Pro-Ma Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide is a potent biocide for killing and preventing regrowth of most types of organisms that grow in fuels. It is particularly effective against the most common type of growth, Cladosporium Resinae, as well as against bacteria yeasts and other fungi.
Pro-Ma Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide, being totally organic, leaves no ash on combustion.
Bacteria or Fungal growth in fuel only occurs when water is present. As water is heavier than fuel, these bacteria or fungal growth form at the interface between the water and diesel fuel and “feed” off the hydrocarbons in the fuel. Water can form in fuel tanks through condensation or transfer contamination from another tank from which fuel is sourced.
Left untreated, these bacteria or fungal growths can rapidly reproduce and cause total filter blockage and severe damage to fuel systems.
Maintenance of fuel tanks require removal of as much of the water as possible and a regular maintenance treatment using Pro-Ma Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide.
FOR ULTIMATE PROTECTION AND PERFORMANCE PRO-MA DIESEL FUEL BUG BIOCIDE SHOULD BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH PRO-MA DT5 PLUS DIESEL TREATMENT or MARINE DIESEL TREATMENT.
By applying both these products to every fuel fill maximum protection and performance benefits are achieved saving large operational costs as well as excessive maintenance and downtime costs.
PRO-MA DIESEL FUEL BUG BIOCIDE APPLIED REGULARLY AT THE RECOMMENDED DOSEAGE WILL EFFECTIVELY KILL AND ALLOW NO GROWTH OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
- Aerobacter Aerogenes
- Salmonella Typhii
- Staphylococcus Aureaus
- Proteus Vulgaris
- Streptococcus Faecalis
- Desulfovibrio Aestaurii
Fungus & Mould:
- Fusarium Moniliforma
- Trichophyton Megtarphytes
- Cephalosporium Species
- Cladosporium Herbarum
- Cladosporium Resinae
- Asperillus Niger
- Penicillum Velutinum
- Yeast (Candida Albicans)
Sulphate Reducing Bacteria:
- Desulfovibrio Desulfuricans
Under normal operational circumstances, Pro-Ma Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide will not harm marine life.

Method of Application
Remove as much water as possible from fuel tank. If evidence of contamination, remove as much as possible prior to treating the tank. Add the appropriate amount of Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide to the tank prior to filling. The application of fuel will disperse the contents and the Diesel Fuel Big Biocide remains in suspension throughout the fuel mass.
NOTE: Dose the fuel tank every time you fill with fresh fuel as this will continue to control any possible bacteria growth.
NOTE: Fuel Filters should be inspected and monitored once you have started treating contaminated fuel. When the Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide kills the various organisms, they will dislodge from the sides and bottom of the fuel tank and from fuel systems. Clean fuel filters regularly until all indications of bacteria have ceased. Consistent use of the Diesel Fuel Bug Biocide will prolong filter life further saving operational and maintenance costs.
Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Wear suitable protective clothing and suitable gloves. May cause lung damage if swallowed. Refer to MSDS for full details.
